The Supreme Court is seeking public feedback on its Consultation Paper regarding the use and impact of social media in the civil litigation process. The purpose of the Consultation Paper is to ascertain whether and how social media can be used effectively in our court process, such that the practice of law in Singapore can leverage on the latest developments in information technology and develop in a manner that best serves the evolving needs of our stakeholders.

With effect from 17 May 2010, a new practice rule will be introduced whereby for civil cases that proceed to trial in the High Court, lead counsel for every party will be required to sign and file the "Lead Counsel Statement on Trial Proceedings".
