Hall of Justice The Supreme Court's newest coffeetable book is entitled "Hall of Justice". It traces key developments in the history and jurisprudence of the Supreme Court over the past 15 years. "Hall of Justice" provides readers with a succinct, engaging overview of the Supreme Court of Singapore - its role as part of the judiciary, its structure, administration and facilities. On 1st April 1937, Sir Thomas Shenton, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Straits Settlements, laid the foundation stone for the Supreme Court Building. Built at a total cost of $1.75 million, the interior and exterior design of the Supreme Court Building was calculated to strike awe. Since then, the Supreme Court Building has been one of the most enduring architectural landmarks of Singapore.
